Turbo Energy granted patent for innovative system enabling seamless storage integration and expansion of photovoltaic installations

  • Turbo Energy granted Spanish patent for breakthrough system enabling seamless storage integration and PV expansion
  • Technology allows adding batteries or solar panels to existing installations without complex retrofitting
  • New solution maximizes surplus energy capture in zero-injection configurations to boost efficiency and flexibility

Turbo Energy S.A. (Nasdaq: TURB) (“Turbo Energy” or the “Company”), aglobal provider of leading-edge, AI-optimized solar energy storage technologiesand solutions, today announced that it has been granted a new patent for itsinnovative system designed to integrate energy storage and expand photovoltaicgeneration in upstream installations. The patented system provides a uniquemethod for enhancing energy efficiency and flexibility in self-consumptionsolar power systems—particularly those configured to prevent surplus energyfrom being injected into the electrical grid.

Thepatent, (#iP202430282) issued by the Spanish Patent andTrademark Office, covers Turbo Energy’s proprietary system and procedure thatenable the addition of energy storage (retrofit) and/or new photovoltaic panels(repowering) to existing installations without requiring complex retrofittingor integration with legacy components. This breakthrough technology ensuresthat excess photovoltaic energy can be stored and utilized at times of reducedsolar generation, significantly optimizing energy usage and minimizing relianceon the external power grid.

Unlikeconventional systems that regulate or limit generation to prevent griddischarge, Turbo Energy’s patented solution introduces a novel “compensationvalue” concept. This maintains a predefined minimum grid consumption level, effectively bypassing the limitations of zero-injection configurations. As aresult, the system maximizes surplus energy capture and storage during peakproduction hours and enables seamless scalability of solar infrastructure.

“Thispatent represents a major leap forward in distributed energy innovation,” statedMariano Soria, CEO of Turbo Energy. “Our novel solution empowers solar energyusers to take full control of their energy production and storage capabilities, overcoming a critical technical barrier that has long restricted the growth andefficiency of self-consumption systems. We are very proud to continue leadingthrough technological and engineering innovation, underpinned by our goal ofpowering a more sustainable and intelligent energy future for our customersacross the globe.”

Thenewly patented technology is already incorporated into Turbo Energy’s nextgeneration of energy management solutions, marketed as SUNBOX Home forresidential applications, SUNBOX Industry for commercial and industrialapplications and SUNBOX Utility for utility-scale projects.
